I started this blog for my son, but since that time he's kind of lost interest in it. And since there isn't a great deal of interest from the outside world either, I'll no longer be updating every day.
If however, some unknown reader should happen to be terribly disappointed by this decision, let me know and I'll try to start it back on a daily basis. Otherwise, I'll just be posting to it when the mood strikes me.
Really I have nothing against Marmaduke. In fact, I kind of like him. He's an old friend from my childhood. He never failed to visit me every day in my youth, making his appearance every evening in the local newspaper. So what if he never made me laugh. Just the fact that I knew I could count on him showing up every day was comforting. And it's still the same today! But still there's something up with this cartoon. It's devoid of humor, yet it appears in over 660 newspapers in 20 different countries. I know that's not just to give old baby-boomers like me a sense of comfort. And so I've come to the conclusion that the strip has to have hidden messages within it. What they are and who they're for though, I haven't a clue.
